Bokeh Background and Dandelion Blooms

Happy Friday :-)

Ellie here today, my turn to share a creation with you. I recently discovered this wonderful technique called "Bokeh" and since it's so fun and easy to do, I decided to use it on today's card.

If you haven't tried this technique yet, you really should. Super easy to do!! I don't have a specific tutorial to link to, but there are several on pinterest and youtube.

These are the steps I used:
1.  Mask off edge of watercolor paper using washi tape.
2. Wet paper with a clean watercolor brush.
3. Add your watercolors to the paper (be sure the whole paper is covered with paint
with no white space in between).
4. Let dry or use heating tool for quicker drying
5. Create a homemade stencil using different sized circle punches (you can use acetate for this, I simply used card stock, because I don't have acetate)
6. Simply use this stencil to add white craft ink to the background
7. Try different intensity levels of craft ink for different sized circles (I tried to have my smallest circles be the most intense).
8. Your background is now complete and you can create the card with it :-)
(Be careful when removing the washi tape if you like to use the border in your card design)

You don't have to use watercolor paints, you can use dye ink-reinkers too. Gelatos would probably work too.

Product List:
(both from JFF)
watercolor paper by Canson
watercolor paints
white craft ink, versafine onyx ink
MS butterfly punch, sticky rhinestones
washi tape for masking, heating tool
circle punches for making stencil, sponge

Hope you like today's creation!

Happy Stamping!!

Easter Blessings

Happy Wednesday everyone, I hope your day has been treating you good! Thank you for checking in, I will be sharing another Easter card with you today. The bunnies stamp is so cute on this card, I have to make couple of these to send out to my friends and family! Thank you JFF for making such beautiful stamps!

Water colored background (again I know!), I just can't stop playing with the water colors lately. The background is then embossed. The bunnies on this card are not colored, to do this all you have to do is masking. Stamp same image on separate paper, cut it out and lay it on top of another stamped image then color the surrounding with dauber and ink.

I hope you like the card and that it gives you some inspiration to make your own, thank you again for taking time to stop by! Have a fantastic day and Happy Easter to you and your family! - Alexia

Brushed Artsy Heart

One of my favorite stamps from the new release is the Brushed Artsy Heart!   The possibilities are endless....  Of course it's perfect for Valentine's Day...

But would also work for Mother's Day, birthdays, sweetest day, etc....

And it also reminds me of a ribbon which is what I did with it for this card...Fight like a girl.

Definitely going to be a favorite for a long time!

All inks used: IMAGINE Crafts featuring Tsukineko.

Silhouettes + Easter Bunny card

Roxie here wishing a Happy Wednesday to all our viewers.

The background on this card was created with Ranger Distress Spray Stains.  I sprayed the stains onto the Ranger craft sheet, moved it around with the finger and pressed the already water misted watercolor paper to it.  I also misted it with water again to lighten up the colors and heat dried the panel.

I then stamped the images in the right corner and decided the pink on the left needed a better reason to be there and the stamped Dried Flower Stalks helped fit it into the scene.  The stains are a fast and easy way to create a colorful background.

Paper: Canson - watercolor paper, Remember When - black textured, Bazzill - mustard textured, My Mind's Eye - designer paper
Ink: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Tangelo, Ranger Spray Stains - spiced marigold, evergreen bough, picked raspberry
Accessories: Tetas de clous - metal Nailheads attached with Aleene's Paper Glaze, Aleene's tacky glue to attach the corner features.
Tools: Perfect Layers Mini, Perfect Cutting Mat, Xacto craft knife, EK Success corner punch

Aren't these the cutest bunnies! They paired up perfectly with the carrot border and pretty daisies.

Bunnies and Tulips

Hello everyone, Ellie here today!
It's my turn to share a creation with you, and I have 3 to show you. I recently received my new Design Team packet and just couldn't quit playing :-)

First up is a cute card made with a couple new double sided stamps.
A pretty simple card, I simply stamped the doodle circle on the card stock, then added the fussy cut the marshmallow bunnies. Finished off by embossing the bottom part of the card and added sentiment and twine.

Stamps used:
Happy Easter sentiment

On the next two cards I used the beautiful Tulip stamp.
I used water color paints for the card,  added the sentiment and framed using DCWV card stock. This is a square card measuring 4.45x 4.45 inches.

And then up next is another card made with the Tulip stamp.

For this card I stamped the tulip first, masked it and then stamped the script background randomly around the tulip. I ended up using the berlin postmark and cancellation mark too, although I almost wish I hadn't. Did some messy sewing around the edges and then added the sentiment layered onto some striped vellum.

Stamps used:
all by JFF rubber stamps

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
Have a fabulous weekend!!

Happy Easter Basket

Hello all! It's Wednesday and it means it's my turn to share my card with you today. Easter is about a month away but I'm all in the mood to celebrate it already, perhaps because my son cannot stop asking me about Easter's egg hunt (he asks me like every other day since a month ago!). So here is the card of the day and of course, it has to be something about Easter eggs. hehe.

The background is water colored and the stamped image is colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I adore the Easter basket stamp very much, it's so cute!

Colorful Houses

Hello from Roxie!
This card is a reminder on this cold snowy day turning to ice that the sun will shine again!

The sun was created by cutting a circle with a Spellbinder die to use as a mask and securing it in place and then sponging on the lightest color.  Lift the circle, place the circles stencil and secure then  place the circle die mask over it and apply molding paste, let dry while you clean the stencil then replace it over the molding compound and sponge on the darkest color.  Now sponge both colors on the panel.
The rays were created by masking off a group of three swirls on the stencil and sponging on the color and then repeating until all rays are sponged.

The blue horizon was created by sponging on acrylic paint.  Why the paint? - it's heavier than the ink and gives a solid coverage without blending which would create a green sky.

To create the hilly landscape stamp the background image on green cardstock and cut it apart according to the rounded patterns in the image, they were perfect for the hills.  The center hill sets on the card panel, the right hill is layered with one layer of extra cardstock pieces and the left hill with two extra layers.  The houses were layered up according to the hills layers so they wouldn't bend when attached.  Nothing worse than a house bending backwards!

As a last step to creating the panel the trees were punched, trimmed to tuck behind the houses and attached with tacky glue.

Paper: Remember When - black textured, Beckett Expressions Radiance (for houses), Georgia Pacific - smooth white, Bazzill - olive green
Ink: Ranger Distress Ink: Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Peeled Paint, Memento - Tuxedo Black (pad and marker to go around the houses edge), Chameleon Pens
Tools: 1/16" Perfect Layers Mini from Perfect Paper Crafting to cut the blue border, Fiskars tree punch, cutting scissors, The Crafter's Workshop - circles stencil, Folk Art - swirls stencil, sponges, frosting knife for molding paste
Accessories: Aleene's tacky glue, foam tape, Ranger Acrylic Paint - Cloudy Blue, Golden Gel Mediums - molding paste
