Sunset Dreams

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today and I've used the sentiment - to watch a sunset - with this amazing image - Adirondak Sunset

I colored the image with assorted Copic Markers.  To achieve the muted effect, I stamped the image on water color paper.

Next I inked the edges with brown ink and matted the image with black cardstock.  To add some detailing, I tore the bottom edge.

Stamp the phrase in the lower corner of a blue panel.

Place the stamped panel on the card.

I love this image - makes me wish I were at the beach.

Thanks for stopping by.

Acrylic Distress

E. Marie here today to share an easy technique I used on today’s card.  It is called Acrylic Distress and it creates a great framing around your image or sentiment.

You start with a piece of cardstock and simply brush white acrylic paint around the edges.  After it dries, you sponge ink along the edge of the paint and wipe off any access.  For my card I used a light blue piece of cardstock and happened to have a little pink waterc0lor paint left in my brush so it gave this lovely light pink edge.  Don’t you love when a mistake creates something awesome.  I used brown Distress Ink to sponge around the paint and it looked great with the light pink paint.

The new Relaxing in the Sand image was stamped with brown Memento Ink in the center.  This was layered on blue and brown.

The sentiment is the new The Voice of the Sea.  This was stamped on another piece of light blue cs and layered on brown.  I sponged the brown Distress Ink on some white sheer ribbon for my bow.

I think you will enjoy this technique because it is very easy and not real messy.  I love how it looks.

Thinking of You

This is designer April again. I hope you are having a good day. I want to show you a Spring card I made using several Just For Fun stamps. I used the Distressed Music Block Antique Birdcage and the Pair of Birds stamps. I stamped the music block stamp and the birdcage onto patterned paper and fussy cut them. I layered them on top of the Sizzix Fancy labels die cut from pink patterned paper. I stamped the birds using brown ink, fussy cut them and pop dotted them to the card. The saying came from the Sentiments 1 sheet. Everything was adhered to the white card base that was embossed by using a paisley embossing folder.

I hope you can join in our Easter/Spring challenge. You might even win a gift certificate to the store! Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope your day will be full of good things!

Watercolor Flowers with markers and stamps

Hello from design team member, Heidi!  Spring has really sprung now, and I am really excited to watch my flowers grow.  I really enjoyed doing this floral card with lovely spring colors.

This look is so easy to get.  Just color right on to your rubber stamp with water-based markers.  Any will do, be it a school supply version or a fancier craft marker.  I used a pink, two oranges and three greens.  Then, I spritzed the stamp with water to rewet the ink and stamped it right onto my watercolor paper.

In the background, I stamped another floral stamp with light green ink onto light green cardstock.   I used some washi tape and ribbon to add contrasting colors. The stamps I used are both from the Flora and Fauna unmounted stamp set.

Please play along with our monthly challenge -- the theme is Easter or Spring!  Click here for the details.

Have a fabulous day!

Fun Festive Marshmallow Card

Welcome! DT member Jen here from Scrap Shack Designs. For today's card I decided to get a little festive... I know Easter is over, but since I created the card last week I am still going to count it. Plus it's a really fun card, here take a look.

See fun right? I just love Easter.

For this card I decided to pull out the "Some Kinda Wonderful" paper pack from Close to My Heart and to pair it up with the "All Seasons 3" paper pack from The Paper Studio.

Once I had the papers picked out I then reached for my Just For Fun stamps. The bunnies, which can be found here, were stamped onto white paper and then fussy cut out. I then took a sentiment stamp, found here, and layered it onto some extra scrap paper (from the Some Kinda Wonderful line.)

That cute yellow resin flower was left over in my stash from a paper line which was released WAY back in the day. I also finished up the card by making some "grass" by fussy cutting some scrap paper and applying it below the peeps.

Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure to head on over to my blog and subscribe to my tutorials and posts. Happy Crafting!

I want to show you an Easter card I made using these sweet Love U Bunnies . I colored them using Spectrum Noir markers, fussy cut them and pop dotted them to the card. I used the Marianne Rose Basket die and cut from aqua card stock. The eggs were cut using the Filigree Eggs dies by Memory Box. The background is a piece of patterned paper with different fonts that say Spring.

Just For Fun has an Easter/Spring challenge going on for the month of April. We would love to see your card creations. You might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Sentimental cards

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today and I've used some of the amazing sentiments available in the store

I had an assortment of sentiment stamps I wanted to use so I used them as the focal elements on my cards.

I love this Bliss sentiment.  Pairing it with some bright flowers and pattern paper really helps it stand out!

Seeing this butterfly sentiment, I knew it would be perfect with a die cut butterfly.

This Enjoy Life sentiment can be used for so many different cards, but I chose to pair it with flowers and several leaves I created with clay from Makin's Clay.  Cut the sentiment into a pennant shape and lightly ink it to coordinate with the simple embossed background.

So pick your sentiment and use them as a starting point for your cards.

Old Time Bicycle

We are experiencing gorgeous weather and it is wonderful to spend time outside.  It has been awhile since I have ridden a bicycle, but I use to really enjoy it.  Just For Fun’s spring release included some new images with bicycles and this card uses the Old Time Bicycle Motif.

The image was colored with Copic Markers, using colors from the background cardstock.  It was layered on blue linen, die cut with Sue Wilson’s Madison Square from her York Collection, and backed with pink cardstock.

The background cardstock is from Echo Park, backed with layers of more blue linen and pink.  Green ribbon was added, coordinating with the background paper.

Have a lovely week.

Spring Has Sprung!

The weather has been beautiful and we have been taking advantage of it! The yard is looking good, we planted a vegetable garden and are enjoying the sunshine and cool afternoons.

My card is a celebration of spring!

I used the Bird House Row stamp image and stamped it a few times on different colored card stock with Versamark ink. I heat embossed with copper foil embossing powder and fussy cut the images out so that I could paper piece them back together. I embellished with some cherry blossom stickers from my new monthly kit from Club Scrap.

The monthly challenge theme is Springtime/Easter and we'd love for you to link up and share your artwork for a chance to win a gift certificate to shop at JFFStampsClick here for more details AND be sure to follow JFF Rubber Stamps on Instagram for daily inspiration!

A Little Love Sign...

Happy inspiration day! Today I am sharing a CAS card with you. Sometimes cards can be overwhelmed with too much "stuff". A nice clean image with a hint of color can be as appreciated as a more "done up" card. It's all in the eye of the beholder.

This fun stamp is called Cupids Arrows and can be found here in the JFF store. I liked the simplicity of the image with just a bit of room for some color. I like clean and simple card, no frills and extras, just a good card that is direct and to the point.
Stop back daily for more inspiration from the team!

Fresh Florals

Hello and thanks for stopping by!  This is design team member, Heidi, sharing a pretty floral card using stamps from Flora and Fauna unmounted stamp set.

I stamped, colored and fussy cut the flowers.  The leaves were then stamped and colored, and I sponged ink to fill in all the white space. I decided to cut out this corner and apply it over top a woodgrain patterned paper.

The sentiment is from Sentiments 3 unmounted stamp set and I trimmed it out and popped it up with foam tape.

I hope you will check out our Spring and Easter monthly challenge!  Play along and be in the running for a prize!

Have a wonderful day!

Gecko Birthday Wishes - Boy Card

Hi guys!! Jen here from The Scrap Shack. As I was heading through my card stash this weekend for a craft show, I realized that I did not have a single birthday card!! I know I can hear all the gasps!! It's either a really good thing because I have been attending a lot of birthday parties lately or a really bad thing because I hope I don't have any more coming up! Anyway, I decided that for my post today I would use a fabulous stamp from our new line called Birthday Wishes as well as the Parachuting Gecko animal stamp to make a really fun and easy birthday card.

Now I am not going to lie, this card was totally a remake. Here is the first version I came up with.

This one was just a touch too busy for me so I took it apart and used the inside to create the remake. Honestly though looking back either one works with the sentiment and that adorable animal stamp.

The paper line I used to make both card is the Echo Park "Birthday Wishes" and again both stamps come from the Just for Fun line.

Thanks for stopping by today! See you back here again for some other fabulous cards.
