Memories In Time

Hi! It is designer April here from Stampwilly Designs. I hope you are having a good day. I want to share a vintage card I made using the Memories In Time stamp. This is such a beautiful feminine stamp. I colored it using colored pencils and Gamsol to give it a soft look.

I used my new Flowers Frame die by Precious Marieke  to cut out the image. The middle die was just the perfect size for the image! The fancy frame around it was cut from dark purple card stock. On the lighter purple background I stamped the Long Script background stamp over it three times. I tore the upper right corner and sponged brown ink on the card's edges. Flowers and a bow were added for embellishments.

You still have a few days to join in our Wedding Time challenge. We would love to see your wonderful creations!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Happy Camper!

Hello from Design Team member, Heidi!

I had so much fun coloring up this camper stamp using alcohol markers!  There are two different styles of campers in the Just for Fun store here that go perfectly with the Happy Camper sentiment!

I hope you have a wonderful day!  Have you ever gone on road trip in a camper?  I would love to give it a try.  Let me know in the comments.

Embossing Fun!

Hi guys! It's Jen here from The Scrap Shack  and today I have a really fun and colorful card and technique for you to check out.

For this card I started by sponging on different ink colors to create a really fun background. I then decided to grab the "Cupids Arrow" stamp and cut it apart so I ended up getting two stamps out of one. I did this because I wanted to clear emboss those beautiful arrows on the background and use the sentiment in a white as the foreground.

This card was super simple to put together and came out awesome. If you are interested in more of my projects or watching the process video you can head on over to my blog. Thanks for checking in today! Happy Crafting!

American Beauties

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today and I've used this amazing stamp - American Beauties.  The stamp is large enough to take center stage on a card.

I colored the image with Copic Markers, then fussy cut it.  I created a card from embossed pink cardstock and placed half a die cut black circle on top.  Next, I created a bow with the Bowdabra and wrapped it around the card.

I placed the American Beauties image on foam adhesives and added it to my card.

What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Anniversary

This month’s challenge theme is “Wedding”.   Just For Fun has many lovely images and sentiments that are perfect for those wedding cards, along with cards for anniversaries.  Today’s card design could be used for either by simply changing the sentiment.

I used some black and cream coordinating cardstock to create the card background.  Cracked Pistachio and Broken China Distress Oxide Ink were used to add a pop of color.  I sponged them on the edges of a piece of cream cardstock to create the layer.  I also sponged them on sheer white ribbon to create the coordinating bow.  Then I picked up the spritzed colors from my craft sheet with a piece of cream cardstock.  When this was dry, the Celebration image was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and cut out with Spellbinder’s Label 5o.  I used a small paint brush to add some water to areas inside the glasses and touched these areas with a paper towel to remove some color.  Then I colored over them with a Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen.  The “happy anniversary” from the Sentiments 1 Unmounted Sheet was stamped above the glasses.

We would love to see your wedding creations.  Link them to the challenge for a chance to win a gift certificate.

Ukelele Lady

I caved and bought some Distress Oxide inks... I saw so many posts using them and I was intrigued! They are so smooth and creamy and make inking a background so easy! I love what happened to the background when I flicked water droplets on it.
Ukelele Hula Girl, Harvest Moon and Wind Swept Palm JFF Rubber Stamps. Club Scrap cardstock.
That sure was a lot of fussy cuttin' but I love how it turned out! I used Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers to color the images and added some Stickles for sparkle. I heat embossed the harvest moon with silver embossing powder because...you know the song...♫ By the Light of the Silvery Moon♫♪! Oh, I am so ready for a beach VACATION!

Be sure to check out the new challenge for July, WEDDING BELLS! Whip up a wedding themed card and share it with us for a chance to win a gift certificate to shop at JFF Rubber Stamps!

Have a fabulous Saturday!

Pretty Peony

Hi! It is designer April here today from Stampwilly Designs. I want to show you a card I made with this beautiful Peony stamp. I love flowers of all types, but it has been hard keeping my flowers outside alive in this summer heat! I have already had to replant two of my pots.

I love playing with my new Distress Oxide inks. I saw a different way to use them the other day and I had to try it on this flower. I stamped the flower on black card stock and heat embossed the flower using white embossing powder. I used the Oxide inks to paint the flower. I really like the look of the "paint." It shows up so well against the black background. Sequins, a bow and butterfly were added for embellishments.

We have a fun Wedding Time challenge going on this month here at Just For Fun. We hope to see your wonderful creations. You might even win a gift certificate to the store. Also check out all the wonderful flower stamps here.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

It's All About The Feather...

Today I am going to share with you a super cute stamp! I happen to love feathers. Big feathers, little feather and even artwork featuring feathers. I just can't get enough of those pretty and colorful things!
This lovely stamp is called Stamptangle Feather 1. I really love the design. You can color up this stamp different and come up with a completely different image each and every time. The best part, there is a series of Stamptangle Feathers in the JFF store!
Have a wonderful week!

Masking Background Stamps - Beachy Collage

Design Team member, Heidi, sharing an easy way to stretch your background stamps.  I adore the Beach Unmounted Sheet stamp set and have been using it as much as possible lately.  Here is the card and simple technique.

Take a sheet of copy paper and fold it so you can tear a random looking hole in it.  I usually use a piece of junk mail.  You can create a more regular shape using a die, too.

Then just ink up your background stamp (I used the Tattered Screen) and stamp over your home-made mask.

This irregular look is great for a collage look.  I am such a fan of background stamps and love using them this way.  I used light ink to mimic the look of a fishing net.

The shell was stamped and fussy cut, then I used irridescent chalks to color it.  They blend so easily and add to the beachy feel.  I stamped more images from the set onto my background and added the lovely new Voice of the Sea sentiment.  Some Nuvo pearl drops were applied and then I was done.

Thank you so much for coming by today!
