Love Cats

Hello Everyone! It is April here showing you a card I made using these sweet Stamptangle Cats.  Valentine's Day is quickly approaching. Have you made your  Valentine's yet?  If not, maybe this will inspire you to start.

I started with embossing my card base using a heart embossing folder and then I  matted it on black card stock. I cut the frame using the Orchard Tree frame from Memory Box and used a heart punch for the hearts on the tree. I stamped the cats on red card stock, embossed them with black embossing powder and then colored some areas with a white colored pencil. The whole frame was pop dotted to the card base.

I would like to invite you to join our January Anything Goes challenge. You still have a few more days. You can view all the details here. We would love to see your wonderful creations.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Love is in the Air

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today and I've used the Collaged Heart.

When working with a collaged image, it's so much fun to stamp it on several different colors of papers and then fussy cut elements and reassemble on the main image.

The heart was stamped in black on red cardstock, then the striped section was stamped again on white cardstock.  The wordy portion was stamped on pink cardstock, and torn.  They were placed atop the heart and a flower was added with a brad.  I wanted the heart to stand out so I placed it on black cardstock and they fussy cut it.

The card was embossed and a striped layer was added across the center.  The heart was then adhered and the panel was placed on a black card.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Steph

Hi!

The weather where I live cannot make up its mind.  First we had a snow storm, a week later it was like summer, and now it is just cold with thunderstorms.  I am still feeling like winter so I made a cute snowman card to share.

I started by creating the background.  After tearing a piece of paper, I used it to mask the bottom and sponged on blue Weathered Wood Distress Ink on the top.  Then I used the vein stamps from two different Oak Leaf 2-Sided stamps to make trees (E2689 and F3021).

The Snowman image was stamped on the card front and then a second time on white cardstock.  This second image was colored with Tombow Markers and fussy cut.  Since the little arm branches are hard to cut out, I simply cut them off and colored the ones on the image on the card front.  The fussy cut image was layered on top and the arms lined up great.

The sentiment was die cut from the same snowflake background paper, using a Spellbinders’ Sentiment die.  The edges were inked and it was layered slightly offset on the same die cut from blue cardstock.  A little shading was added with a light grey Tombow marker and some little spiral sequins from Hero Arts were added to the background.

Here’s to better weather (though I do like being inside and being creative).

A Little Mermaid...

Good Morning Lovelies.Today I am going to share a little mermaid card with a stunning stamp. I've always loved mermaids. After I saw Peter Pan from Disney, my fascination began. Long beautiful hair and sparkly scales..who wouldn't want either of those!
Isn't she beautiful! I love that hair, floating in the current. I also love her expression, staring off into the horizon. The stamp I used is called Stamptangle Mermaid.  She is available now in the store. Don't forget to stop by every day for new inspiration!

Birdie Valentine

Hello from design team member, Heidi!  I am so glad you are here because I have this very sweet card I am excited to share.

I colored up several of these Fashion Warbler stamps the other day.  I have the small version but there is a large stamp in the JFF store too.  I decided I would make one into a Valentine.

I added a thick layer of glossy accents over top of the colored bird.  After it dried completely, I trimmed him out.  I thought this patterned paper and a hot pink cardstock was the perfect way to turn this all-occasion bird stamp into a Valentine.  The hearts are confetti I saved from a party.

The sentiment is from Unmounted Sentiment Sheet 3 - such a cute sentiment, too! (It can also be purchased separately.)

Have you started any Valentines yet?  Consider using some of your everyday stamps to make some fresh and fun cards.  Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget the JFF January Challenge, it is anything goes this month!

Make Your Own Sunshine

Hi Guys! Jen here again from Scrap Shack Designs. Today I decided to grab my Just for Fun stamps and make a "sympathy" or more of a "get well" card that would be perfect for a friend in need of some cheering up.

I love the design of this card and wish that I could have captured it better. The front outside corner folds down creating a really fun "peek-a-boo" aspect to the card. After I folded down the corner I decided to layer and mat my image to really draw the focus up to that beautiful Floral Tea Cup stamp from JFF. This stamp is colored in using alcohol markers. I wanted to image to be bold and really stand out. I then decided that the Stamptangle Sideview Butterfly would be a wonderful complement to those flowers. I simply stamped this with blank ink onto orange cardstock. I finished off the card with a sentiment sticker (intended for a planner) and some black enamel dots.

Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my project. If you loved this project feel free to stop on over to my online studio and say "Hello!" I am always sharing inspirational projects and tutorials.

Cheers!

Thinking of You

Hi from designer April! I hope you are having a good day. I want to show you the card I made using the Snowy Pine small stamp and the Peeling Paint Frame.

I started with the frame and masked the trees. The frame was water colored to look like wood. I added white Liquid Applique  and stickles glitter to the trees.

The snowflakes are stickers and stickles glitter was also applied to them.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Come join us in the January challenge that we have going on now. You do not have to use a Just For Fun stamp, but if you do your name will go in the drawing twice! We would love to see your creative projects!

Happy Stamping!

Not all who Wander

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with a card that focuses on a sentiment stamps.

I've used the Not all who wander are lost rubber stamp, pairing it with Graphic 45 pattern paper.  Butterflies are always wandering so I thought this would be a great pairing.

I cut a butterfly panel and matted it with cardstock.  Then I wrapped ribbon around the panel and added it to a floral background before adding it to the card base.

Keeping the sentiment simple, I stamped it on white cardstock and matted it with brown cardstock.  For dimension, I added it to the card with foam adhesives.

Thanks for stopping by.

Keeping Warm?

The south east is pretty chilly today and many places had snow this weekend.  That is pretty exciting for some of us that do not see it very often.  Perfect timing for this winter card.

The three trees from the Stamptangle Christmas Trees were heat embossed in black on watercolor paper and watercolored with Zig Clean Color Watercolour Brushes.  After they dried, they were fussy cut and layered on a white frame.  This was added to a white layer run through a snowflake embossing folder.

The Warm Winter Wishes sentiment was stamped with Bamboo Leaves Memento ink.  It was hand cut and slanted across the card front.

Stay warm this week.

♪♫ It's Carnival Time♫♪

Louisiana carnival season has begun! January 6 is called Epiphany or Twelfth Night (since it's twelve days after Christmas) or Kings Day (hence the King Cake tie-in?). It marks the moment in the Bible that the three kings arrived in Bethlehem to behold the baby Jesus. Traditionally, Epiphany is considered the last day of the Christmas holidays. You can now say "Happy Mardi Gras!", wear purple, green and gold, buy and eat king cake and take down your Christmas decorations! I plan on doing it tomorrow...ugh!

In the meantime, I made a fun card using the Stamptangle Celestial Montage stamp. The design reminded me of some of my Mardi Gras decorations!
Image stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with silver embossing powder. The image was painted with a mixture of Perfect Pearls and water. Club Scrap cardstock and embellished with gems from my stash.

There's still time to join the JFFRS "Anything Goes" January Challenge for a chance to win a gift certificate to the JFFRS online store! Details here!

AND...be sure to check out the Special New Years Offer!  It will begin January 1 and run through January 15. All online retail orders will receive 40% OFF and your savings will be shown in red at check out.  Click here to go shopping!

New Year & New Ideas...

Happy 2017 Lovelies! Today I am going to share a simple but pretty "card" tag. I am always on the lookout to add cute tags or additions to envelopes/bags & boxes, so I decided to make one!
For this item, I decided to make the front of my card look like a gift and added this pretty Cardinal Stamp from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps.  The stamp is called Large Cardinal and can be found in the JFF store. I colored the Cardinal with Copics, added a frayed ribbon and backed the card along with the printed cardstock with red for a more cohesive look.  Hope you like my project, stop by the blog for new inspiration daily, check out the current challenge or have fun shopping. Happy New Year!

Stamptangle Tea Cups for Hot Tea Month

Did you know that January is Hot Tea Month? I know that I drink more hot tea in the winter.  In honor of this, I decided to make this card for a family member who needs some TLC right now using the Stamptangle Stacked Tea Cups stamp.

I colored the image with alcohol markers and then added accents by layering glitter gel pen over gold gel pen.

Then, I put some sticky back gems over top of some sequins for embellishment.

I put my sentiment on the inside of the card ( Sentiment Unmounted Sheet 3 ) and coordinated it with the card front by stamping my teacups again in a very light blue ink.

Thanks for stopping by the JFF blog today!
