Hi creative Just For Fun bloggers. Linda here to share a StampTangle Chickadee card with you today.

This is a 5 x 7 card (A7). I started by stamping the chickadee onto white cs using black archival ink. Once this was dry, I used colored pencils to spruce him/her up :)  Well, any well-rounded chickadee cannot be seen in public unless he/she is sitting proudly on a branch. I cut several branches from light brown cs using a Memory Box die. Then I added a bit of marking with my trusty colored pencils. The branch the chickadee is standing on is doubled up and offset just slightly. After all, this is quite a plump little chickadee. Guess it takes after me ha,ha,ha.

I wanted the chickadee to look like it was a caged bird so decided to use a Spellbinders lattice die. I cut one from rust cs and grunged it up a bit with brown distress ink. I turned it over to the back and penciled a line to cut out of the center area. I attached the lattice piece onto muted blue cs and then added the branches. This was then popped up onto another cs mat and then onto pewter-colored mirri card to add more light and depth to the card. The chickadee was added last. It was first formed by pushing down into the middle from the back to give some dimension. I added some pop dots in the middle area to make sure the dimension stayed that way, then glued down the tail, beak and feet areas.  Here is a closer look ......

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
I love feedback from creative artists, so leave any comments below.

Have a Wonderful Christmas!

Can you believe how quickly this year/month has passed...
only 12 more days till Christmas!
Hardly seems possible but it's approaching so fast.
I thought I'd share this card using one of my favorite stamps from JFF...
This cool retro bubble light stamp!
For this card I stamped the bubble lights on scrap paper, colored, trimmed then mounted over the pine bough which was stamped multiple times.  I added a bit of Stickles glitter to the tips of each candle and then covered each with a layer of Glossy Accents.
Finally I stamped the sentiment - Wonderful Christmas to finish it off.
Hope you're all enjoying the holiday season...

Hi Bloggers. Hope all is well with you and yours.

I have a holiday card to share with you today. This is a new Just For Fun stamp, and it carries on with their StampTangle theme. I hope you like it.

Hmmmm, the colors on the background are not very true. So sorry for this. They look on the orange side but are definitely reds and greens. I used an alcohol background from my stash and ran it through a holiday embossing folder. Then I sanded it a bit to bring out the white of the card stock. Since the background was created on glossy card I stamped the Peace ornament (G3728) on glossy also using Stazon ink. I added color with markers and when dry, added gem and pearl embellishments.
The ornament is popped up on the background and a bow glue-dotted to the hanger. The strips are glitter tape in white that I went over with the distress tool with distress ink on it.

This is a nice sized ornament, approx 3 3/4" x 3".

Thanks for stopping by and "see" you soon.....Linda

Give Thanks

Greetings, Stampers!
Long time, no post from me.  I had a health crisis just after Labor Day, and have not been able to get any crafting in yet.
I just finished chemo treatment 5 (seven more to go, and I hope that will be the last of it).  The meds are making all systems bizarro, not the least of which is the affect on my hands...but enough boo-hooing!

This post card was created by my 14 yo daughter, Laurel.
Laurel spent a l-o-n-g time on the coloring : )  something not possible for me at the moment.
Hoping to get back to my craft room soon.

A blessed Thanksgiving to all of you.

Just for Fun Rubber Stamps used:

I wish you a happy "prep day" as we call the Wednesday before the big feast!
This year, hubby, sis, and daughters will do the cooking for me, quite a change from the usual, but I'm sure they'll do great.
All the best!

Thanks for Everything

It's Linda's Monday and I have another Thanksgiving card to share with you today.

I've done some layering on this one and I've used the Large StampTangle Pumpkin. I colored the pumpkin with my go-to medium, colored pencils. The sentiment was stamped with Archival black ink and distressed around the edges with vintage photo ink. I added a bit of Distress Stickles to the vines/leaves.

Just to give you an idea of the size of the three pumpkins, I took a picture of the images I stamped onto white card stock. The largest one is approx. 3 1/2 x 4, medium is 2 3/4 x 2 1/4, and smallest 2 x 1 3/4. You can find them HERE.

Thanks for stopping by...... Linda

Give Thanks

Hope you are having a wonderful first Monday in November. I have a Thanksgiving card to share today.

It's so hard now days not to go straight to Christmas after Halloween. And no wonder with the merchandising hype well in the groove. My husband now calls Thanksgiving "the forgotten holiday". Isn't that a sad thought. I try not to forget about giving thanks and take a break from whatever is going on in my life and reassess my priorities.

The card I created for you uses the wonderful StampTangle medium pumpkin. I say "medium" because there are three sizes to choose from. And, as always, three choices of mounting.  I colored the pumpkin with colored pencils, die cut a vine and used an autumn paper for the background. The sentiment also came with the autumn paper and was popped up before attaching. Gold colored adhesive gems were added to each side of the sentiment. All is mounted onto a sage green card after adding a 5/8" wide ribbon in matching green.

I will be showing you the largest pumpkin on my next post Nov 18. Hope you stop by. Check out the other new StampTangle holiday stamps at Just For Fun Rubber Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by.  Linda

Make a Pumpkin

by Janine Blackwelder

Pumpkins and faces are just some of the newest images in the Fall 2013 stamp release.

This card was made using two stamps, Plain Pumpkin and Jack O'Lantern Face 1. I stamped the Plain Pumpkin and Face 1 images with Momento Tuxedo Black on white card stock then colored it with Copic markers. I fussy cut it out then embellished it with Crystal Stickles. I stamped the Crackle Texture background onto green card stock. The black border was embossed with the Cuttlebug Spider Web embossing folder. I added a few leaf and flourish die cuts along with some orange bling to finish off the card.

Hi Everyone!

Janine here with a card to share with you today. It features the StampTangle Hope Ribbon image from JFF's Summer 2013 release of rubber stamps.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month I wanted the StampTangle Hope Ribbon to be the focus of this card.

I simply stamped the image with Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto white card stock then colored it with Copic markers. The dies I used are Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large and Floral Ovals along with Fancy Framed Tags Two. The white panel is embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

I embellished the ribbon with crystal gemstones and black gemstones on the corners.

JFF also has two other ribbon images that can be stamped in other colors to represent other types of cancer awareness. You can do a Google search for other cancer awareness ribbon colors.

Be sure to visit us this weekend at the StampScrapArtTour in Hampton VA. Here is the link to the show information.

Cloverleaf Frame

Hi creative Just For Fun bloggers. Linda here today!

I am so excited to share this card with you today so let's get to it :) The creative process starts below the card image. Enjoy.

I started by stamping the cloverleaf frame stamp onto watercolor paper (a full-size sheet) using archival black ink. Once I was sure it was dry, I laid the coordinating cloverleaf frame template on top and secured with washi tape. I stippled distress ink in greens and blues around all edges of the openings in the template. Then I stamped randomly inside the openings with blue ink using the Crackle Texture stamp. I love the way it looks like light coming through deep water. Yummy. The template was removed and I decided on how much border I wanted to leave...about 1/2" all around.

I stamped the sea turtle onto white cs using blue ink and highlighted some of its markings using a colored pencil. I tried to keep it pretty monochromatic. Pop dots were used to adhere the turtle to the "water" but I decided there needed to be some sea vegetation. Hmmm, what could I use? I found a lily-of-the-valley die and decided it would look pretty convincing if cut from green cs and not embossed to give the flowers definition. What do you think?  I thought it looked ok so edged a bit in brown distress ink to make it look more grungy looking and attached.  This entire piece was then popped onto muted blue cs and then again onto watercolor cs.

I hope you like today's inspiration. Don't forget to leave a comment below.

Stamptangle Pumpkins...Halloween Fun!

Today I am lucky enough to bring you a card made using a smokin' hot brand spankin new Stamptangle image....

The thing I love about this image is that you can cut the pumpkin apart at the segment lines and mount it on your card at varying heights.
Makes for a very impressive dimensional image in person.

Hope you're all enjoying Autumn!

Framed Fun

Hi Bloggers.

Linda K here to show you a card made with a stencil template frame and coordinating stamp from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps. It is actually called Irregular 6 Frame and you can find it here. It was really fun to make and quite quick and easy. Here's the completed card and below is how I made it.....

First, I used the stamp called Irregular 6 frame with black ink. I laid the coordinating stencil template down on white cs and taped it with washi tape to keep it from moving. Then I stippled with distress inks around the edges of each window in the stencil. I used post-it notes to mask edges as needed also when I stamped the other images in the windows. The picture on the left shows the other images I used in the windows.  All stamps used are listed below as well.

I remembered I had a bag of wood wedges picked up at a garage sale (thinking I could do "something" with 'em sometime) so pulled one out and the turned bird fit perfectly on it. I stippled the wood first, then stamped the image with black Archival ink. I stamped both of the bird images I have and decided to try putting embossing paste on it to give it dimension so used the "extra" as my trial image. I liked it so did the same to the image I used for the card....see a closeup below.
I adhered the wood with E6000 glue as it is bulkier than a usual embellishment. I adhered the white cs to black cs and then to a sage-colored piece. I left room on the left side for multicolored natural twine and stapled it at various places with the Tiny Attacher and touched up the staples with a brown Sharpie.

Stamps Used:
D3702 - Blackbird (used as my trial sample)

Thanks so very much for finding our Blog today and check back again soon.

Perfect Pear Party!

Hi Just For Fun Bloggers!

I have a Stamptangled Pear for you, my. I love pears....the fruit and any pear stamps. I am delighted to have this really cool pear to work with and hope you are inspired by this card.

The pear is colored using colored pencils and cut out. I then cut around it onto black card, using a 1/8" border and adhered the two together. The background was created onto watercolor paper using gesso and gelatos watered down and blown around. When dry I stamped another new stamptangle background in opposite corners. In one of the circles from the stamptangle I put the "thank YOU". The pear is popped up using pop dots and a ribbon attached.

Voila! It's a Perfect Pear Thank You....

Paper Clay Charms!

Stamps are just for cards...

This week I've used a couple JFF stamps to make some Halloween charms for a charm swap I'm hosting.

I shaped the paper clay into balls and partially flattened them.
Next I pressed the web stamp into the clay and then the spider.
You have to let the charms dry for quite a while before moving onto the paint stage.  I usually let my charms sit for 2-3 days to be sure they are completely dry.
Paint the entire charm (front & back) with black acrylic paint.
After the paint was dry I swiped on Brushed Pewter Distress Paint skimming just over the top of the charm.
I filled in the spider with Ruby Stickles Glitter Glue then finished the charm off with a red eyelet.
After the Stickles has dried they are ready for action!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Dragonfly Fun...

I sure hope you are enjoying all the Stamptangled cards you have been treated to these past weeks.  I know they are really fun to work with.

I have a Stamptangle Dragonfly for you today!

I pulled out an alcohol background from my stash and used a die to cut the bell jar and stand. I mounted this onto a second piece of darker green card using pop dots. I colored the dragonfly using colored pencils and formed the wings a bit before attaching onto the darker green background. A few stickle dots were added within the jar and a criss-crossed ribbon.

With a Little Love...

Hope you are having a wonderful week...
just want to send you all a little love!
I made this card by stamping the StampTangle Heart onto a sheet of glossy cardstock that had been inked with several shades of red Alcohol Ink.  I then added a few deep red accents with my Spectrum Noir marker and went over the black lines with Black Diamond Stickles Glitter Glue.
The heart was then layered onto another piece of glossy cardstock which was also inked with AI's.
Finally I matted on a red card base and added the sentiment - with Love.
Have a wonderful weekend!!

Good-Bye Summer. We'll Miss You.

Happy Labor Day, to those in the U.S.
Tomorrow marks a momentous occasion in my little family.  I'll be sending off two freshmen:  one in college; the other in high school.  These are big transitions, especially considering that they were educated at home for the past ten years.

My heart just might break a little!

This is a card that I made to celebrate the end of summer.  Dream Girl seems so carefree.  I want to hang onto that feeling a little while longer!

I stamped the Dream Girl image onto a blue background, then again onto black, green, white, and peachy-yellow card stock.  I pieced the image back together and glued it in place.
The hem on her dress was stamped onto white card stock, then colored in with Sharpie markers.

Next, I cut an oval from patterned paper.  I "grunged it up" a little, using a very light touch with a  large brush and dark ink and placed it over the main image.

I stamped the bicycle with black ink onto white card stock then fussy cut the image. I stamped the grass border several times with green ink onto the die cut oval then adhered the bicycle with foam tape. I then stamped the "have Fun" sentiment then die cut and adhered to the card front. Embellish with pearls in the corners.

StampTangle Miss You Card

Hello there! Nancy Y here today sharing this Miss You card using two of the newly released stamps from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps. I used a flower from the StampTangle Cube, stamped it multiple times, and colored in just a few random areas to create a background. Next, I used a circle punch to create a little nook and stamped the flower again, along with the sentiment. Using a small piece of scrap watercolor paper, I stamped one more flower and fully colored it, cut it out, layered it over the stamped area, and finished it with some very tiny gems.
Supplies Used:
watercolor paper, watercolors, cardstock, tiny gems, circle punch.
Happy Stamping!!!

With Love

Hi Everyone,

Wow, do you believe it's the last Monday in August already? The older I get the faster the time goes by. I have so many stamps to use and just not enough time.

Today's card uses one of the summer 2013  Just For Fun StampTangle stamps.

First, let me apologize for the red background; it is NOT part of the card. The last layer of the card is the yellow-gold layer.  I'll do better in the future with my photography.

I stamped the StampTangle Teardrop Heart using Archival black onto white card. I cut the heart into two pieces and colored using watercolor pencils and a water brush. When dry I rubbed Microglaze over both pieces to seal them and bring out the color. The aqua card was run through a Sizzix embossing folder before adhering to the blue card and then the yellow-gold layer. All corners were chomped.

The largest piece of the heart (left side) was popped up with pop dots. I stamped "with LOVE" in Archival black onto white card and cut apart and popped up.  I added white 1/8" ribbon and punched a swirl. Tiny pearls were added to the swirl and then "hooked" onto the ribbon.

Tangled Turtle ATC

Happy Monday to you!
Today I've been playing with the new line of StampTangle images.  They're very fun!
I was excited to see turtles in the collection, as I am a big fan
of sea turtles.
I'd like to share with you an ATC that features
two of the 2013 Summer Images:

This ATC features
E3706:  StampTangle Border 1, and

First I stamped the background image, then used watercolors to paint the sea.
Next I stamped the turtle onto a separate piece of cardstock, painted with watercolors then cut him out and glued him to the background.
I cut to size (3.5" x 2.5") and added a turquoise border.

I hope you like my turtle-y ATC.

With Thanks

Good Evening!
Janine here with my post. I lost rack of time and thought today was Friday not Saturday.
Today I have a card to share using more of the StampTangle images from our latest release.

I stamped the following images with Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto white card stock then colored them with Copic markers.
I then fussy cut the flower from the background, then cut the circle image from the center of the flower. Next I arranged the flower and leaves and adhered to the card front with double sided tape then adhered the circle with foam tape to add dimension.

I hope you are enjoying what our design team are creating with the StampTangle images. They are having fun creating with them!

Black and White Simplicity

Good Afternoon.  It's Lisa with my newest project for Just for Fun.  I am so excited to be able to share my creation with you.

I started with the white card base.  I cut piece of vellum card stock and I stamped the StampTangle Border 1 (E3706) using Jet Black Staz-on ink.   Once the image has dried, I flipped the image over on a Paper Molding mat and using a stylus I went over the blank parts of the stamped image to bring out the white color you see in the finished card.  I cut a mat of black card stock and attached the stamped image using mini white brads.  Then I attached the image to the left side of the card front.  I also added a piece of black gingham ribbon and a bow on the right side of the card.

For Eponine

Greetings, Stampers!
Celine here, with a project inspired by the play, "Les Miserables".
My older kids and I are in love with the characters, plot and music of this remarkable work.
Today's offering comes to you courtesy of my 14 yo daughter, Laurel.  I apologize that I have barely been able to get out of bed these past few days.  I caught strep (from that same daughter, btw!) and it hit me hard.
Rather than leave the blog empty, I asked my dear daughter to fill in for me.  She was happy to comply.
Antibiotics are helping, and I'm hopeful that I'll get back to my own stamping very soon!

Parachuting Gecko

Hello Stampers! Nancy Y here today with a card I created using the Parachuting Gecko stamp from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps. I've also included a quick tutorial for the sky / cloud background.
Here's how I created the sky background:
broken china distress ink, cloud decorative edge scissors (any scalloped edge scissors will work just fine), scrap paper, ink blending tool
Cut a random cloud edge on scrap paper
Use the cloud edged paper and ink blending tool. Use less ink as you move the edge down the paper. I flip the paper over and move it left or right to make the pattern more random.
So Easy!!!
Supplies Used:
cardstock, designer papers, distress ink, archival ink, watercolors, ink blending tool, decorative edge scissors (cloud), glossy accents (top of parachute and eyes), corner rounder, and tiny gems.
Happy Stamping!
