Happy Thanksgiving Card

Hi everyone Beth here with my last post on this blog. I thought I would share a Thanksgiving card today. As I said in my last post I love the Stamptangle Maple Leaf stamp. I decided to use that stamp once again for my Thanksgiving card.

I stamped with Black ink on Kraft card stock because I wasn't sure if the timber brown would show all the details. I used a cosmetic sponge and pan chalk to apply my color using yellow, orange and red. I decided to not cut directly on the outline but to leave a border.

The background was done by stamping distress ink directly onto an embossing folder on the raised side.  I then wet my yellow card stock before running it through the embossing machine. For this card I used the de-bossed side. This is a fun technique because the results are unpredictable.

The sentiment panel was done in PhotoShop and then printed.

Just a reminder that there is still time to join in this month's challenge.

Before I leave I want to wish the new Design Team the best. As well as to thank Just For Fun Rubber Stamps for giving me the opportunity to be on the design team for a year.

Happy Fall Y'All

I feel Fall in the air which is fine with me.  I have always loved Fall.  To me it was my "New Year's", a fresh beginning.  Why?  If you are a teacher you will know what I mean.  New first day outfit, new class, new books, new lessons, new challenges, etc., etc.

Here is something different I made with Just For Fun Stamps - an 18" x 18" wood sign made from recycled pallet boards.  This what keeps my DH in his workshop.  Lots & lots of signs.  We are selling them in 4 stores.  Some are finished others we call DIY Signs.  "We make, You finish."  We don't make a lot of money, but we can buy new supplies to keep our fun going.

I used 3 different Stamptangle leaf stamps: Stamptangle Maple Leaf (E3860), Stamptangle Oak Leaf(F3859) & Stamptangle Elm Leaf (D3858)

I base coated the sign with Ivory acrylic paint.  The leaves were stamped on the sign using Ranger Copper Metallic Paint Dauber.  It dabbed just the right amount of paint.  A couple I had to restamp, but since I was using the stamps on a cling cushion & clear stamp block it was easy to realign the stamp without too much trouble.

Just For Fun Stamps also have leaf stamps more like nature.  I do like, however, how the Stamptangle leaves came out.  It is hanging on the living room wall!

This is my last post for my year on the Just For Fun Stamp Design Team.  I have loved every minute & I know you will enjoy all the creations coming up with the new Design Team.

So "Have A Happy Fall To Y'All!"

Set the Table for Fall

Fall means a new color scheme for table settings at our house.
I can hardly wait until it is time to put out the leaf placemats.
This year I decided to make napkin rings using the
JFF Stamptangle Elm Leaf that I love dearly.

I dry embossed and sponged strips with Distress Inks for the "ring."
Then I white embossed the imaged
and sponged again.
Now for some comfort food like stews, soups, and such!

Join us for fall fun this month!

Hot Air Balloon Paper Piecing

E. Marie here to share another card using an assortment of the wonderful Hot Air Balloon images.  These great designs stamped on decorative paper make a great combination.

The Flower Balloon, Hot Air Balloon, and Steam Punk Balloon were each stamped on the card front in a cluster.  Then they were each stamped on different decorative papers, fussy cut, and layered on top of the matching images on the card front.

The Enjoy Life sentiment was stamped in black above the balloons.

This card front was added to layers of some of the same cardstock used for the paper piecing.

Enjoy you week.

Tags, tags ... and more tags!

Today it is all about tags, tags, and more tags!  Tags are fun and easy to create ... just think of them as a small masterpiece of art then go for it.  For my tags I used distress inks and a good archival jet black ink to stamp the images over all the inks.  for two of the tags on the left (top & bottom pics) I press the ink pads to my craft sheet, sprayed with water then laid the tag in the watery inks for a watercolor effect.  for the two tags on the right (see top & bottom pics) I blended the same colors with blending tool (or sponges) then I flicked water on the tags to make water spots or what I like to call faux bleach spots.  The two seagulls on the tags are stamped, fussy cut and mounted to tags.  The birds in flight are stamped directly on tags then added white highlights and if you look close all the tags have glittery Stickles on them.  hope you like my tags.

Stamptangle Maple Leaf Candle

Hi Beth here with a quick project to create to decorate for Fall.Since right now we have our Fall challenge going and the option is anything but a card I thought I  would combine the two. I bought a flame-less candle which holds a  flame-less tea candle. As much as I love real candles they can be messy and with fur babies can be a fire hazard.

Started by wrapping raffia ribbon around my candle. The ribbon has been in my stash for a long time and never used. :-( I heat embossed the Stamptangle Maple Leaf with black embossing powder on white card stock. (I have all these scraps I need to use them up somehow) I first tried it with clear embossing powder but the detail got lost. I think in this case I actually like the black better. I then spritzed water on my image and sprinkled red and yellow pigment powders. On top of that I brushed copper watercolor paint which blended the powdered colors more.  Alas it does not show in the photo. After cutting out my leaf I adhered it to the ribbon using a multipurpose glue. I also applied a drop to the bottom of the leaf to adhere it to the candle.

When I was playing around with attaching a sentiment I discovered that adhesive from a tape runner does not work. If you decide to change to another season the ribbon is easy to take off and the glue rubs easily off the candle.

I hope you will join in this month's challenge. Details can be found here:

Thank you for stopping by and have fun stamping just for fun.

Purse Notes

When I think AOTAC, I think of the gift items I make for friends.
One tried-and-true standby for me is a purse notes set that you've probably seen before.

with heat embossing and Distress Inks in vibrant colors.
Add some dry embossing to the front flap which the camera couldn't catch,
and your Purse Note Set is complete.
Won't you join us for fall fun in this month's challenge?

Life Is A Journey

Happy Labor Day.

Have you ever had the chance to ride in a hot air balloon?  Though I have not done this, and I'm not sure I would be brave enough to, I imagine it to be a magical experience.  Life is full of these experiences and today’s card is for one of those times.

I started with a simple background stamped lightly with the Stacked Blocks.  This was layered on some brightly colored decorative cardstock.

I stamped the Flower Balloon directly on the card front and then a second time on a separate piece of white cs.  I colored the second image with coordinating colors, then cut out the balloon and basket and layered them on the first image.

The sentiment, Life is a Journey, was layered on multiple layers and adhered to the front.

What magical moments will be part of your life’s journey?

Post It Note holders

Today I'm showcasing another style Post it note holder which is a pop up easel just like when we make easel cards.  I did this particular style post it note holder in two sizes....the one where you can see the easel side fits a mini 2" x 1 1/2" post it note pad ... the second fits the 3" post it note pad.  Behind each image are gold dollies (don't use very often - found pkg. in my stash) and gold thread for a bit of interest.
Till next time ... Inkt it!  Stamp it!  Use it!
