It's Not Too Early... start thinking about making your Christmas cards.  Whether you are browsing for a design you like, or (if you are like me) you make a few cards each month, Christmas crafting can be a lot of fun year round.

Design Team member, Heidi here today!

I made a background by swiping inkpads over my embossed cardstock. This takes no time at all.   I thought these colors gave an icy feel.

Also, the interesting background allowed me to simply heat emboss the Stamptangle Star small and Stamptangle Star large onto colored cardstock and very quickly get this card finished.  The sentiment is from the versatile Sentiments 3 Sheet.

Have you ever started your Christmas and Holiday projects early? Let us know in the comments.

  1. Gorgeous Heidi! What a great idea to get a jump on holiday card making! I hope you'll share how you made the background!

    1. Sure, it is the same technique that Marie shared here the other day. Just emboss cardstock, get out some inkpads, and swipe the inkpad directly to the cardstock from the top to the bottom of the card. It will look a little different depending on what embossing folder you use. Since this one has a lot of open space, you get the streaks. The colors I used were distress ink Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass and Blueprint Sketch. Hope that helps!

    2. Here is Marie's card if you missed it...

  2. Heidi, your background turned out great! Love your card.

  3. This is a favourite of mine. I love everything about this one.
