Spread Your Wings and Fly...

It is my day to share, so E. Marie here with a simple card made from some a colorful background.

I have had some fun playing with my Color Bursts and Brushos lately.  Fellow designer, April Williams, shared some fun techniques with me a few weeks ago and I created some lovely backgrounds just from picking up all the extra color left on my craft mat.  This is what I used for this card.

The Collection stamp was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on top of another piece of this colorful background.  I trimmed around it, leaving just a little of the color around the edges.  This was layered on white and the Spread Your Wings and Fly... sentiment was stamped with Salty Ocean Distress Ink at the bottom of this layer.

I hope your week is great and come back soon for more inspiration.

Hello Friend

Hi, it is designer April here again from Stampwilly Designs. I hope you are having a good day. I made a winter card using the Large Cardinal stamp. I have had a cardinal couple in my backyard for many years and I loved seeing them at my feeder. I am sad because I have not seen them for awhile. I hope they did not fly somewhere else. I saw a hawk flying around a few weeks ago and I am afraid he scared them off or worse! Hopefully I will see some more cardinals soon.

I also stamped the Large Pine Bough stamp twice onto white card stock. I colored and fussy cut them, then snipped around the edges with my scissor to fluff them up. I also added white Liquid Applique on them for "snow." I used a background die that someone gave me and added clear Stickles glitter on each star. I cut words using dies cut from kraft card stock and outlined them with a black sharpie marker.

Don't forget that we have a challenge going on. Please join in and you might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Every Day is a Gift

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here again today and I've used some great stamps from the store to create my card, combining both new and old stamps.

I've created a card using the Silhouette Pines and Sentiments 3.

I began by inking the Silhouette Pines rubber with  several colors of green ink and a touch of brown.  Then I spritzed the rubber with water before stamping onto white cardstock for a watercolor effect.  As an afterthought, I added blue ink around the trees.  Then I inked the edges of the panel with brown ink.

The panel was matted with kraft cardstock before being added to a blue card.

Every day is a gift was stamped on white cardstock then punched out.  It was added to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hearts in Pink

Hi Guys! It's Jen from Scrap Shack Designs and today I have a card that is a little out of the normal for me. This card combines a really pretty pink along with some spectacular heart stamps and what could make that more romantic? How about adding some fabulous and fun French doodles onto those stamps!! Here take a look.

I started this card off by choosing a couple of different papers from the CTMH "Adventure" paper line. For the top paper I wanted to give a fem. grunge feel so I tore the bottom half and then used my distresser to push it a little farther. I then paired up that beautiful pink paper with the "French Postal Hearts" 2-sided stamp from Just For Fun. Here is a closer view of those stamped images.

I first inked the stamp up using a "Smoothie" colored ink. I then took the whole ink pad and gently swiped it across the stamped image. I then fussy cut out one whole heart and just a rectangle portion of the wording on the second stamp. When I was done I added some shimmer, because hey it's pink already!

I also took some scrap white paper and inked around the edges and layered that onto the back of my main heart. When I had all the paper laid down I embellished using Itty Bitty Sparkles and a paper clip flower which I received from a swap partner.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed and were inspired to create something beautiful!

Pine Forest

Today's cards are all pine related...each with a different technique.

The first card was stamped with Memento dye ink then a bit of a wash was added over top with a touch of white watercolor paint. It really softened the image and added a dreamy look to the pines.

The stamp was colored with Memento Dual Tip Markers then stamped onto the background.

The final image is a silhouette image that was stamped then embossed with black ep. The lake was covered with On Point Glue with a bit of glitter sprinkled over top.

Using Valentine Stamps for Birthday Cards

Hello from design team member, Heidi.  I know this sweet stamp makes a very cute Valentine, and maybe that is the first reason you will purchase it, but I also wanted to show you how to stretch your stash by making a birthday card for a young person.

This stamp comes in a set of two hearts - one cat and one dog.  That is handy to make cards for both your cat people and your dog people!  The sentiment can be found in the store here.

This card was easy to make. I stamped first onto patterned paper and then again onto white cardstock. I did some paper piecing by carefully trimming out the dog and adhering him right down onto the patterned paper.  I added a touch of color to the dog and some blue stickles glitter glue to the hearts.

The background was made with star shaped metal dies.  I used the embossing sandwich with my die-cutting machine so the star shape would show up, but not cut through the cardstock.  I liked the pattern I could make without too much busy-ness.

I hope you are getting in some crafty time.  When you have your Valentine stamps out, keep in mind that they might work well for other occasions too!  Have a great day!

American Beauties - Congrats Card

Hi guys! Jen here with a really clean and classic card that would fit so many occasions. I always feel a little lost when it comes to making cards in January. I'm not sure if it's because I am still burnout from all the holiday cards or perhaps it's simply because there are no solid card holidays in this month. Who knows. Recently I have realized that January is a great month to make all of those miscellaneous cards, or perhaps to build up your stash for the long year ahead. Well again, today's card is very clean and really focuses on the beauty of these JFF stamps.

This card is made from a black base and features the American Beauties stamp. This stamp is large, gorgeous, and totally in charge! As with most JFF stamps you can really view all of those beautiful details that set our stamps apart from the rest. This stamp would have looked equally as nice if I decided to color it in, however for this card I wanted to keep it simple.

For the card I used a black base with a white base title on top. I stamped the image straight onto the white paper, using a black ink. I then topped off the card with some marbled gems and a grey toned sentiment. Another option for the sentiment would be to white emboss one of our sentiment stamps onto black cardstock. As always play around with your designs and see what works best for you.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this clean card. If you are interested in this stamp make sure to head on over and check it out (right now it's 40% off!!)

What types of cards do you focus on in January?

Waves, Bubbles, and Sea Turtles

E. Marie here to share a card.  It has been a bit chilly so I am ready for some warmer beach time.  I’m thinking waves, bubbles, and sea turtles.

This card starts with the Loopy Loop Memory Box Die.  This was cut from white cardstock and layered on a large blue circle, cut with a Spellbinder’s Circle Nestability Die.

The Sea Turtle Seascape was stamped on decorative paper, then die cut with the Loopy Loop Die.  The center section was added to the center of the white die cut on the card front.

The same decorative paper was used for the card background.  The Voice of the Sea sentiment was stamped on the bottom of the card and some Hero Arts sequins from my stash were added.

Hope you have a fantastic week.

Winter Thanks

Hi! It is designer April here. I hope you are having a good day. Here is a thank you card I made using the Stamptangle Stacked Tea Cups. I love these stamptangle stamps because there are so many ways to color and use them. I colored this image using Zig watercolor markers. You may need to have some thank you cards ready for those Christmas gifts you received so I hope I can give you some inspiration.

I cut out the image using a Spellbinders Oval die and adhered it to swirl patterned paper. This was matted on orange card stock and then to the white card base. I used a punch for the border at the side. The saying on the tag is from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet. I also added white Liquid Applique on the mugs and on the steam and then applied clear stickles glitter over it.

We also have a challenge going on here at Just For Fun. We would love to have you join in and you might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Cute Cats...

Hi ya Just For Fun fans!  It's freezing up here in Minnesota and we've got snow, ice and well below zero windchills. School started today and I am getting back into the swing of things.  Today I am re-sharing with you a"zentangle" inspired card featuring cat images that are super cute!

I just LOVE this stamp. It is called  Stamptangle Cats and you can find it here in the JFFRS store. I created the window scene and decided to add a little wallpaper around the frame to give the scene a more realistic feel.
I also decided to make each cat different just to showcase the many ways you can color these fun stamps.

Galaxy Cityscape

Hello from designer, Heidi.  I have been having fun with Just for Fun’s great silhouette stamps!  Here is a card where I used the Skyline Silhouette from the newest release.

First, I created the background by sponging regular distress inks onto watercolor paper.  I spritzed it with water droplets.  When it dried, I added stars with a white gel pen.  After that was done, I could heat emboss the Cityscape over top.

The saying is a fun and different one that I love.   It can be found in the store here.

Have a great day! I hope you will have time to leave a comment so we will know you were here.
