Beautiful Balloons

Jen here today from Scrap Shack Designs, and if you know me at all then you probably know that I adore Just For Fun stamps. They are just unique enough to always stay fun, whether you are coloring, outline stamping, background stamping, or everything in between.

For today's card I decided to dig out my project life cards and piece together a quick card using the Stamptangle Balloon stamp. I'm always looking to add to my "Everyday" card stash and today's card does just that.

This card could be used in a number of different holiday's or situations, I kept the colors cool and the sentiment neutral. Think Birthday's, Valentine's Day, or really any everyday thing like the ever important "Thank you's."

To make this card, I stamped the balloon image onto a piece of vellum paper and then I fussy cut it out. This beautifully designed hot air balloon will now be my focal point. I then picked out a number of items from my "accessory bin" and pieced together a small sentiment cluster. When making cluster's I like to keep the number three in mind. As in three pearls, three accessory pieces, I even imagine a triangle laying over the card and use the three points to lay everything out.

Thanks for checking out my creation today!

Cheers!!

Merry Christmas/Happy New Year Star

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today.  I hope your Christmas was fun and you got everything you wanted.  Today, I'm using the Stamptangle Star small to create a background.

I repeatedly stamped the Star on a panel of white cardstock.  Then I "painted" it with several colors of Clearsnap Smooch Accent Inks.

I used Distress Inks around the panel, then mounted it on pink and brown cardstock.  Dew Drops were added to the centers of the stars.  I fussy cut the label from pattern paper, inked it and matted it with pink cardstock before adding to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Happy New Year.

Is Christmas Really Over?

Merry Day after Christmas.  I hope everyone had a wonderful time yesterday with friends and family.  I thought I would share one more Christmas themed card inspired by my parents.  They used to love going camping and would come visit us and park their big camper in our back yard.  This new little camper image was perfect for this.

Dark blue was used for the background and was die cut with a star background die.  This was layered on yellow to show the stars.

The tree is the Stamptangle Christmas Tree and was stamped on the blue background.  It was stamped a second time on a paint chip and fussy cut.  This was layered on top of the original.  The star was stamped on yellow, fussy cut, and heat embossed with Sparkle EmbossingPowder to make it sparkle.  This same embossing powder was added to the circular ornaments hanging from the tree.

The CMP-Round Camper was watercolored and fussy cut.  The Sparkle EP was added to the little Christmas lights.  A glitter pen was used on the metal areas.

The “celebrate” was die cut from red cardstock and heat set with Sparkle EP.

Have a wonderful time relaxing after all the Christmas activities.

Merry Christmas!

It is April here once again to wish you a Merry Christmas! I hope your Christmas will be wonderful and full of many good memories. I want to show you a card I made using the Stamptangle Christmas Tree.

I stamped the tree on green plaid patterned paper and embossed with cream embossing powder. I fussy cut the image and adhered it to the Gina Marie Stitched Oval die. I made banners using patterned papers and dark brown card stock for borders. All of this was adhered to the embossed kraft background.

You still have a few days to enter our December challenge below! You might even win a prize!
Thanks so much for stopping by. May your Christmas be filled with many blessings!

Fun with Stamptangle Stars

The Stamptangle Star (large & small) are so darn cute
and they are so versatile as you can see below!

Embossed, sprayed with Shimmer Spritz then sprinkled with Brusho Colour Crystals.

The background was embossed then sprinkled with Lime Brusho's.
The blue star was stamped & embossed on a scrap of white cardstock
then sprinkled with blue Brusho's.  It was cut out and pop-dotted on the card.

I love that the centers of the stars look like poinsettias!

Jolly Stamptangle Christmas Tree - Mixed Media Wall Hanging

When I first saw the Stamptangle Christmas tree stamps, I immediately thought how Jolly they look! So when I found this little saying in a patterned paper pack, I wanted to pair it up with a tree.

You can find the Stamptangle Christmas trees in the JFF Shop here.

I started with a base of corrugated cardboard from some packaging and used whipped spackle and glitter to create snow.  My tree is part of a group of three, but I only wanted to use one, so I colored it and fussy cut it out.

I added lots of stickles glitter glue and a lot of embellishments to finish off my little wall hanging.  It looks very festive and definitely Jolly!  (I decided I had to keep this instead of giving it away!)

Have a great holiday season!

Bells & Holly Holiday Card

Hi Guys! Jen here and today is my day to design for the blog so thanks for coming by and checking out my newest project! This card was inspired by the Bells & Holly stamp and it came out so perfect!

I wanted this card to be fun and festive so I found two funky patterned papers from a 12x12 paper pack. I wanted to match the stamp in design, color, or theme and so I went with the red holly stripes and a wonderful repeating tree to match the holly leaves. Once I had my DSP picked out I layered them onto some Ruby Red cardstock.  I think that layering or matting your cardstock can be a fantastic way to break up two busy patterns.

To really allow that wonderful stamp to pop on the front focal piece I wrapped some layered ribbon around the square. I then colored the stamp with some markers and I fussy cut it out.

I love the Just For Fun Stamps because they are always so unique and beautiful!

If you are interested in more of my projects or tutorials, or just saying "Hi" you can find me over at The Scrap Shack. Thanks for stopping in today!

Wise Men Still Seek Him - Clean and Simple Card with Distress Inks

Thanks for stopping by today to visit! I am excited to share this clean and simple Christmas card using the 3 Wise Men with Camels stamp and a very appropriate sentiment from the unmounted Sentiment Sheet 3.

The background was made by sponging distress inks over cardstock. The colors are Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Dusty Concord and Black Soot.  I went an extra step and lightly misted the piece with water.  I used my regular spray bottle, but held it very high above the paper so only the very fine mist hits the paper.  I love the soft look!

I added a tiny star sequin to the stamped image for just the right touch.

Thank you for being here today and please don't forget the monthly challenge!  Join in the fun and you could be the lucky winner of a gift certificate to the JFF store!

♫ Chickadee-dee-dee-dee ♫♪

JFF Stamptangle Chickadee image

I love to bird watch. My boss sprinkles bird seed on the window sills at our office every morning. I have a large window in my operatory with a view facing the bayou that runs behind our office. The birds immediately flock to the windows, along with a few fat little squirrels that chase them away! In the spring, we've even watched the wood ducks parade their babies on the levee before they disappear into the bayou. My patients love this little peek into our private "wild kingdom" while they are waiting. If you feed them, they will come!

I'm on an embossing kick lately. The stamptangle images are so pretty when they are embossed in silver and gold! I stamped the chickadee image with Versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder. I fussy cut the image and freehand cut a branch and the ornament out of Club Scrap cardstock. The ornament is embossed with Versamark ink and Stampendous Kaleidoscope transparent embossing powder. I love the shimmer on the ornament!

There's still time to join the JFFRS Christmas/Winter Challenge for a chance to win a gift certificate to the JFFRS online store! Details here!

Heat Embossed Poinsettia on Acetate

Hey ya'll Jenna Here again sharing my latest creation for JFF! I love the holidays. I especially love holiday crafts. With my latest card I decided to try a technique I have been wanting to try out for quite some time.
I took the Large Poinsettia stamp from the JFF Stamp Shop, and instead of heat embossing it on cardstock I heat embossed it onto some acetate. I'm sure a lot of you have thought about doing this but, like me, were reluctant because you were afraid to melt the acetate. After all, when you melt embossing powder you are essentially melting ground up plastic anyway.
To my surprise I absolutely love the way this turned out!. I used antique gold embossing powder from Simon Says Stamp. I made sure my heat gun was nice and hot before I brought it to the acetate. Another trick I found was to continue to move the heat gun around instead of focusing it in on one spot for too long.

Once all the powder was melted I set the acetate aside to create my card base. I used some green cardstock and created an A2 size card base. Unfortunately the antique gold looked a little blah with the green behind it so I decided to mount it onto some red cardstock first using a few dots of Multi Medium Matte behind the flowers. I also added some gold washi tape along the top and bottom of the acetate so the corners wouldn't lift.
Next I mounted it onto my green card base. For the sentiment I die cut the word "believe" 3 times from the same green cardstock and stacked them together. I took some more of the antique gold embossing powder to create an ombre effect on my sentiment and attached it to my card with more of the Multi Medium Matte.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope I was able to provide a little inspiration for you! For a full list of supplies head on over to my blog
Happy Holidays and a safe and Happy New Year!

Stamptangle Christmas Tree

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here again with an amazing Christmas card.  Can you believe it's only 11 days till Christmas?

Today I'm using I've the Stamptangle Christmas Tree.  At 3 1/2" x 4", it's the perfect size to take center stage on a card.  Isn't it lovely?

I stamped the tree with green ink, then added an assortment of Dew Drops to emphasize parts of the tree.  I didn't want to add color as I wanted the design to truly show.

There are lots of stamptangle products in the store.  You need to check them out.

Thanks for stopping by today and come back again to see what the design team has created.

Coffee Joy

Today’s card is a mix of elegance and fun.  The elegance comes from the delicate, dry embossed background and decorative, elongated ornaments with bows.  The fun comes from the addition of the little coffee cups for a coffee themed card.

The Stamptangle Teardrop Ornament were colored with a mix of watercolors and Copic Markers.  They were fussy cut and popped up on the card front.  The Cup of Joe was stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink, punched out with a circle punch, and also popped up.

The Joy To The World sentiment comes from the Sentiments 1 Unmounted Sheet.  It was stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink on coordinating cardstock and layered on blue.

Do you know a coffee lover that would be thrilled to get a Christmas card like this?
